I am back in the flatlands, and happy to report no life threatening incidents whatsoever!

Here is a brief report:

Day 1: Ray showed me one of his favorite duck spots, but due to high water and low numbers of birds ( sound familiar) we were skunked. He did offer up a nice tour of the area via boat. Beautiful country to say the least.

Day 2: Ray and crew put on a goose shoot to be envied by any and all waterfowlers. Birds worked nice, and shooting was up close and personal. I am happy , no amazed, to report I shot well from the new power hunter. We finished the day with 15 honks downed, and 1 drake mallard, which by my observations may have been half of the entire population of dux in Pennsylvania! (lmao).

Day 3: A very poorly timed and unlucky shot by a deer hunter spooked all birds off the roost and they left the area without giving a look. We did manage to trick a couple small groups and ended with four birds to finish off the hunting on a high note.

Just like to give a shout out to Ray and the guys. Thanks a million for the trip, it was one I will never forget. Simply amazing to watch the birds circle with the mountains in the background. Beautiful country and great people. I hope to return someday, and as always you are welcome in IL anytime, I will even have duckpoor or echo cook breakfast. lol.

P.S. ONE MORE THING. Ray, no matter what duckpoor offers, I will match it. No need for you to go posting pictures on the forums, I have my film and I will handle all the pictures, no need for you to go through the trouble at all!

After talking to you on the phone last evening I told the Mrs... CS is still fired up after a two day cooling off peroid and sound just like Christmas came early.
Beautiful country and Geese that co operate now and then.

Every one here in cornfield USA owes Ray Big.. You sure took the pressure off this area. The Boy was about to blow a gasket.. but he seems much better now..LOL

so much to say, I am sure I will forget a few things and have to mention them later, but here goes.....

First, it was an absolute pleasure to meet CS and Mrs. CS, after nearly 4 years of internet chatting. Very classy and fine folk, if any of you ever have a chance to share a blind with this 'kid' DO IT.

Over all, the hunting was poor, but we did manage to trick a few honkers into gun range. And CS sounded SWEEEEET on that Winglock he has, it was nice to have someone along who knows which end of the call to blow into. AND, CS killed out during Saturdays goose hunt, and ALL of his kills were hit in the head and neck. I have a feeling he has been BS'n me for quite some time, about his waterfowling skills.
And he can cook too, Friday night, CS and the Mrs. cooked dinner for us and it was VERY tastey. ('course, after a 30 pack, dang near anything will taste good)
Over all, I think good times were had by all and memories were certainly made.

Thanks again, CS...it was a pleasure.

Now for the rest of the story.....LMAO.....remember CS saying the one greenhead we killed during Fridays hunt was half the population?.....who all wants to see a pic of the ohter half of the greenheads in PA?

"Oh our great and gratiuos God of the duck and geese, let Ray be a pillar of strength and show CS the way to not do anything that will humble the Illinois Boyzs... "

Boy is he gonna be some dissapointed......hehehehehehe banana.gif

ALRIGHT, since our first duck hunt was basicaly a bust, I thought I should do my friend the best I could so I took him to my top secret honey hole. I mean, this place is so secret, only me and the Chocolate Thunder know about it. And this flatlander forgot his GPS so there aint no way he is gonna find it again. We get there and I sit Grizz by the big oak, in my favorite chair and tell him I guarantee we will have birds work, and CLOSE.
Here they come, big ol fat greenhead and 2 suzies. I am blowin the Echo Timber like no bodys business, almost poppiong an artery in my forehead. One more pass, ticka-ticka ticka-. ticka. Alright,..GET EM, CS!....nothing, GET EM!....again, nothing. My dawg is a bit on the 'excitable side' so by this time she is comming out of her skin! Still nothing from the IL gunner. The 3 birds plop right down 'tween CS and the decoy spread, so I slowley turn my head to see............

Bawaaaa....that was funny as all get out!!!!!! tongue.gif thumbsupsmileyanim.gif

So your basically telling us that the hunting was so slow that you guy's had time to sit around and think up a story (how many beers did it take anyway) and then set up a photo shoot with some tamies to make the story even funnier? Time well spent.....I thought it was funny.
