Slow nite again last nite. We had 2keepers on senko's. I didn't make it up to the weighin. But the guy that won had 14lbs and BB5lbs. I thought I saw him throwing a senko. Lots of guys caught fish on topwater. Almost got to fish with Grizz, but work got in the way, at the time. Sorry buddy, you didn't miss anything.

On the bright side... It didn't rain on us. :) And I got to run the boat and fish.

Yeah, that was a bummer, probably my last chance to fish for several weeks, and I can't get ahold of the guy because he has no phone....right after I send the text that I can't make it because I have to wait for this guy to show up at the office, he calls to report being broke down on the highway and unable to make it. Doh.

Oh well, I guess it wasn't meant to be for ya to win this week...or I would of been there to net fish. dancing-048.gif

appreciate the invite though, I am officially listed as on the DL as of Tuesday, I'll let ya know when I am cleared to play again. lol

Had a good nite last nite. We caught 9keepers, you can only keep 4 in my club. So we culled out 5fish, 2fish weighed probably within .01 or .02. I have a culling beam and they were exactly the same. Last 40min of the tourney we caught 5keepers and were working the culling beam hard. If you don't know what a culling beam is, It's a piece of alluminum that has a handle in the middle and a hook on each end. You put one fish on each end and if there is even an once difference it will lean down on that side. We had to use it on 3 of the last 5fish. Ended up weighing in 10.71 on 4fish, not very impressive, but it was enough for 1st place and $121. All fish were caught on a Senko. Couple of others boats caught fish on topwater. Right now fish are in all stages prespawn winding down, definately spawning, and I would say some Have to be in postspawn. We were catching spawn and post spawn.

Congrats on the good showing . Those cookie cutter fish make for a busy time deciding on who gets to play.

Any thoughts on what has their pattern so strug out ? The rough fish are up on the banks right now which is right on the mark. Every other species has been a mixed up muddled up mess this season.

No idea. My theory on Lake Jacksonville is there is no grass growing. Usually there is grass everywhere. This year it just isn't growing. Which leaves the fish less "protection". And gives us less targets to aim for. On a normal year on Jville, you can see pockets in the grass throw a senko in, if it hits it, game on. If not, move to the next hole. This year there is not as many places for them to hide.

But if your experiencing a weird spring too, then I'm not sure. I think the early warm weather we had, has something to do with it. The water temp in April was 70. Up til last weekend it was lower 60's. My conclusion is, that early warmth really messed with the fish. I'm hoping it straightens out here in the next few weeks. Who know's.

Kinda like duck hunting. What is a normal year anymore. I guess we all just need to stop thinking how things use to be, and adjust to what we're dealing with now.

Slow nite again. We had 4 fish that weighed a whopping #7.86. Caught 3 before the tourney bam bam bam. I thought great tonite is going to be a good one. Then 15min into the tourney, RAIN. It rained pretty hard for about 30-40mins. And that I'm guessing turned them off for us.

It took 12lbs to win(they had BB too, at 5lbs) and 5th place was 10.41. Just not catching the nice fish that Lake Jacksonville has been known for the last few years. Not sure why. Just keep hoping for them to bite.

Sorry for the late report.

6/17- Had a good nite. We had our limit(4) within 45min. Then we went hawg hunting. At about 7we caught one, probably around 5lbs. Bite slowed to nothing, of course we were fishing for just Big fish at this point. End of the nite I say "Make this a good cast, it's your last of the nite". I throw and make a "bad cast", fix my backlash. Just as I was done reeling in the line I was fixing I felt a little tap, set the hook. It's dark and felt like I was pulling in lots of grass. Come to find out it was grass and a 16in bass. Tried to cull one fish out but it wasn't big enough.

We weigh in the Biggest for BB and they say 6.10lb with total weight of 12.65. Wow, that should be a sure thing for BB as it's only been taking 3or4lbs for BB. Ends up we got 2nd place. Someone else had a 6.15 and 14lbs for 1st and BB.

We had a good nite. My partner this week explained lake depths and showed me what to lineup for numerous brushpiles. So, I had a very enjoyable evening. Thats my report for this week.

6-24 Fish with same guy as last week but in his boat, under his name. Basically he was in charge.

Slow nite. Started out deep in middle of lake. Boats racing by farely close. Caught a few shorts. Moved to another mainlake spot. He caught a 10in bullhead on a crackbait. Nothing else. Finally he said "Should we try your honeyhole?" I said yeah we can get our 4fish there then go hawg hunting.

Get there, bam keeper. Fish a few mins, bam again. 2 keepers in less than 5mins. Fish for another 10min, bam another keeper. Fish another 30min with no luck so we move to a few more brushpiles. Thats it. Only 3keepers. Lake Jax is hit or miss this year. No grass has everyone and the fish all screwed up.

15.64won and had BB 5lbs, same guys as last week. Took 12lbs 2nd-5th place.

7-1 Last nite was horrible for us. We did not catch a single fish til 830. And it was about 10inches. Then at 9, I finally caught a 15inch keeper. Well we threw it back because at that point we had 15min left and the only thing that would have helped us would have been a very large fish.

15lbs Won and I think 12-13lbs was 2nd-5th place. Most people were catching them shallow. We kept inching deeper. It's summer, they should be out deep. Heck, we even fished the lilly pads with Zero success. Yes, a little frusterating!

But I got to go fishing and that's half the battle. There's always next week.

Team ,
Thats a tough night for sure. Was wondering what you were throwing.
I have always thought when it got tough like that... if I wasn't catching Dinks after I downsized the equipement, I was in the wrong place or I was competing with something.

Are the shad up ? Did the frogs hatch ? Is there water running into or out of the lake ..
I mean you know the water... and the fish haven't left..

Maybe its time to Crank . Or swim a craw ...change it up a little and break the spell...

Thanks for the report and heres to enjoying your time on the lake.. cheers.gif thumbsupsmileyanim.gif cheers.gif

BTW been hearing some good reports on White bass catches here and there..

I threw a jig most of the night as that usually produces big fish.

Lures we threw

Jig, swimming and jigging
Worm, carolina and texas
tube
senko
crankbaits
We tried semishallow out to Deep. Just wasn't our night. Just gonna try and forget last nite and move on.

Slow night for me again. Top water or isolated brushpiles is what everyone else caught them on. I finally switched to topwater and had 2keepers hooked but couldn't keep them hooked up. Any advice on froggin? I waited(seems like Forever) to set the hook. Shad have spawned and big balls of shad fry in some locations. I did catch multiple fish on topwater, all shorts though.

15lbs Won 5.54BB, 12lbs was 5thplace.
