Just wanted to share some pictures of the snow accumulation we've been living with over the last month. It started with a dusting before Christmas, then about 6 inches right before Christmas and then a big dump while we were away over Christmas. The arctic chill started then with 25 below air temp's in the over night with 30-50 below wind chills at times. It has been COLD since Christmas, with highs of single digits. We were actually happy when we saw 15 a few days ago. We are in a warming trend now with high 20's and maybe even a 32! With budget cuts and what not, our city has not been in a big hurry to clean the plow push off the roads. It reminds me of living in Bismarck, except with crappy duck hunting! I've grown up with snow and this is what comes to mind as winter when I was a kid. The below zero stuff just sucks. I think we've all had some unusual weather this year. Must be global warming.

Drew

PS...Yes, Woody that is a regulation height mail box, not one for "little" people.

Ya know D..
I was just about to go into bitch mode full bore and the temps improved here in Illinois ..
Now having seen where you live.. I ain't got shat to complain about.

Yeah it was cold and white and blowing here since Christmas.. .... but no where even close to that panorama..

maybe it would be better if you and your tribe relocated to central Illinois and escaped to our tropical par-a-dice..

I have much respect for you guys b/c I don't think I could function in temps that low. I could not imagine having to put in a full days work outside in those conditions. Hats off to you guys and here's to the groundhog not seeing his shadow this year so ya'll can get some relief.

I can't complain too much either. My job is mostly inside. You should see the guys framing, roofing and general construction guys. They look like the Michelin tire guy with who knows how many layers, but they are out there, plugging away. Sometimes they will wrap whatever part of a house or building they are working on in a plastic bubble with heaters inside. When we had that cold stretch I would go out and start my daughters car for her and even with a good hat and good gloves, whatever was exposed, really just hurt within the time it took to walk to the car. Like a good slap across the face. Put on top of that the younger two couldn't get outside to burn off steam and you have a house full of pent up energy. Even Mocha would run out, do her business and head back to the door. It was so cold one night, when I opened the back door to let them out, just the "warm" air from the house was steaming outside like a sauna. We also learned how to "vaporize" hot water in the cold air. That was pretty cool. (pun intended)

You've proved my point Woody. The Nile flows in Egypt, Sudan, Uganda and Ethiopia.

No riff raff here.

Hey check out this link. My wife saw this and we've been watching once in a while over the last few days.
Pretty cool. She had one cub yesterday.

Speck, no blaming you. We could use some warm air blown up from down south.
Must be the "Global warming" going on.
